Job summary

Avantos is building the AI-native operating system for financial services. We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer to own and evolve our infrastructure, reliability, and deployment practices in a hybrid NYC or US-remote setup.

You will build foundational platform capabilities, enforce security standards, and drive operational excellence for mission-critical financial workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain our AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for rapid, safe deployments
• Own observability with monitoring, logging, and alerting via Datadog
• Architect and manage containerized workloads on ECS Fargate; evaluate Kubernetes migration
• Enforce security best practices with compliance teams in financial services
• Design disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies
• Optimize performance, cost, and resource usage across AWS
• Collaborate with engineering to improve service reliability and establish SLOs/SLIs
• Participate in incident response and post-mortems for continuous improvement
• Mentor engineers on DevOps, cloud architecture, and operational excellence
