Job summary

Avantos.ai is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer to own and evolve our infrastructure, reliability, and deployment practices. You will build the foundational platform enabling rapid, reliable shipping while meeting security and compliance standards for financial services.

You’ll design and maintain AWS infrastructure with Terraform, build CI/CD pipelines, own observability, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles.
• AWS services deep expertise including ECS Fargate, ALB, Cognito, S3, SQS.
• Terraform for multi-account environments and IaC.
• Scripting in Python and/or Bash.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or similar.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes/ECS.
• Observability with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Networking, security, and AWS best practices.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployments.
• Own observability strategy with monitoring/logging/alerting (Datadog).
• Architect and manage container workloads on ECS Fargate; evaluate Kubernetes migration.
• Enforce security best practices with compliance teams in financial services.
• Design disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
• Optimize system performance, cost efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve reliability and establish SLOs/SLIs.
• Participate in incident response and post-mortems for continuous improvement.
• Mentor engineers on DevOps practices and cloud architecture.
