Job summary

Liberate is seeking a seasoned Staff DevOps and Platform Engineer to own and evolve the real-time AI voice and workflow automation platform. You will steward a modern AWS-based stack spanning PBX, EKS, networking, and secure production environments while mentoring engineers and driving scalable infrastructure improvements.

You will lead incident response and reliability metrics, modernize CI/CD, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable rapid product expansion.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of DevOps or platform engineering experience with production systems at scale.
• Deep hands-on AWS expertise (EKS, IAM, VPC, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch, KMS).
• Strong Kubernetes/container orchestration and multi-environment management.
• IaC tooling with Terraform and GitOps workflows.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript for tooling and automation.
• Experience with Traefik, HAProxy, load balancing, and routing.
• MTLS and secure service-to-service authentication knowledge.
• CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions and CodeBuild experience.
• Ability to lead incidents and define SLOs for reliability.
• Excellent communication and distributed-team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Architecture and Ownership of core AWS infra including PBX systems and EKS.
• Own and improve Canary routing infrastructure via Traefik and GitOps.
• Maintain and optimize CI/CD flows and deployment pipelines.
• Secure integrations and MTLS proxy infrastructure with carriers and edges.
• Lead incident response, on-call rotations, and postmortems.
• Build internal tooling to improve developer productivity and safety.
• Drive compliance, security posture, and SOC2-related controls.
• Collaborate with AI Platform and product teams to align infra with goals.
