Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the DevOps and platform layer for AI systems. You will design and run a cloud-native foundation on GCP, automate toil away with IaC, and orchestrate agents to accelerate product teams.

You’ll implement end-to-end CI/CD, ensure reliability with proper SLOs and security-by-default, and scale AI workloads in production while keeping vendor tools and architecture in balance.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; MS is a plus.
• 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering with real software engineering.
• 2+ years on cloud-native platforms (GCP preferred), operating production systems.
• Demonstrable automation you've built that eliminates toil.

Responsibilities

• Build the platform: design and operate the cloud-native foundation on GCP.
• Automate everything that shouldn't be manual via IaC and self-service pipelines.
• Orchestrate agents for ops, using AI to draft IaC, generate tests, and triage incidents.
• Own CI/CD end-to-end for fast, reliable delivery and multi-ship capability.
• Engineer reliability with SLOs, monitoring, and incident response.
• Secure the path by embedding security and least privilege into pipelines.
• Support AI workloads with scalable infrastructure for LLM/agentic systems.
