Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Experience with deployment technologies, such as Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration.
Experience with metrics monitoring and dashboards (Grafana).
Understanding of user access practices and security controls within a system.
Understanding of system administration in various OS environments.
Strong knowledge of configuration management tools.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Understanding of software development lifecycle best practices.
Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Able to work on-call hours as required.

Responsibilities

Under general direction, identifies deficiencies in product delivery lifecycle and implements industry best practices.
Oversees hiring of a small DevOps team to assist operation and maintenance of products.
Inspects, patches, and upgrades existing products for reliable delivery to customer environments.
Maintains development, testing, and production environments.
Manages CI/CD pipelines to maximize efficiency.
Implements industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.
Develops and maintains solutions for operational administration, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
Tests system integrity and implemented designs, improving processes as needed.
Manages deployments, fixes, updates and related processes.
Works with CI/CD tools and source control (Git).
Provides technical support and develops software for back-end systems.
Stays current with industry trends and sources new improvements.
