Job summary

Alchemy is building an AI-native platform for R&D labs, with a remote Europe-based DevOps role offering EU hours and US overlap. You will operate and modernize an established cloud platform, expanding Terraform coverage while maintaining CloudFormation infrastructure, and balancing reliability with cost efficiency.

You will own CI/CD pipelines, handle incidents, and contribute to tooling and security in a small, highly capable team, with strong emphasis on automation and documentation.

Qualifications

• Terraform expertise with multi-environment and drift diagnosis.
• Deep AWS networking: VPC, IAM, ECS/Fargate, Aurora MySQL, S3.
• Author and deploy CloudFormation templates, not just read.
• Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Bash and Python automation for tooling and glue code.
• Aurora MySQL operations: scaling, snapshots, failover and performance.
• Incident discipline with rollback planning and postmortems.
• Cost-aware engineering and cloud-cost visibility.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering and automated checks.
• Clear written English and thorough documentation.

Responsibilities

• Expand Terraform coverage and bring existing resources under code management.
• Own and improve GitHub Actions and Jenkins pipelines and environment automation.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and improve reliability of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Lead cloud-cost optimization via right-sizing and lifecycle management.
• Support customer deployments into AWS environments and document requirements.
• Remediate vulnerabilities and strengthen security posture and audits.
• Develop internal tooling for deployments and operational visibility.
