Job summary

Raft is a U.S.-based defense tech company building mission-critical data platforms. We seek a Senior DevOps Engineer who understands the software they deploy and contributes to it.

You will design secure Kubernetes infra, automate CI/CD via GitLab, and enable scalable data pipelines across cloud and on-prem environments. You will collaborate with software and data engineers, implement IaC with Terraform and Ansible, and ensure observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and logging stacks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps or platform engineering roles.
• 5+ years with Docker and Kubernetes in real environments.
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitLab and GitOps workflows.
• Experience with data streaming and platform observability tools.
• Experience in regulated or government environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and secure Kubernetes-based infrastructure for data workloads.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and GitOps patterns.
• Develop IaC with Terraform and Ansible to provision platforms.
• Collaborate with software engineers to improve deployability and reliability.
• Support data streaming pipelines using Kafka, Flink, Pinot, etc.
• Establish platform observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentbit, Loki, Kibana.
• Enforce DevSecOps, container hardening, vulnerability scanning, supply chain security.
• Manage Helm charts, Istio service mesh, and multi-cluster networking.
• Support hybrid cloud deployments (AWS, Azure) and on-premise environments.
• Write automation in Java or Go to accelerate operations.
