HCSS, based in Sugar Land, TX, seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer with a focus on SRE to drive reliability across cloud environments. You will manage Azure SQL Elastic Pools, optimize performance, cost, and observability, and lead high-availability initiatives.

You will implement automation, scale infrastructure, and improve incident response while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Remote flexibility exists with periodic on-site office presence in Houston area.

Formación

• 8+ years in DevOps/SRE with a cloud focus.
• 3+ years managing Azure SQL Elastic Pools (performance, scaling, automation).
• 5+ years Azure services incl. networking, compute, databases, identity.
• Experience with SLIs/SLOs and incident management in SRE.
• IaC experience with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Strong scripting with Azure CLI and PowerShell.
• Observability platforms knowledge (Grafana or similar).

Responsabilidades

• Own design, scaling, and optimization of Azure SQL Elastic Pools.
• Monitor and tune pool performance for SLA compliance.
• Establish observability and alerting for resource usage and performance.
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and failover with IaC and scripts.
• Collaborate with DB and app teams on resource usage strategies.
• Design highly available and disaster-tolerant systems.
• Develop DR strategies and perform failover testing.
• Lead incident response and root-cause analyses.
