Job summary

CoStar Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to craft and scale cloud services across Matterport products. You will work with multiple brands and global teams to automate deployment, run and monitor services, and ensure performance at scale.

The role emphasizes IaC, CI/CD, and modern DevOps tooling, with a four-days-on-site and one-day-remote schedule. A strong background in cloud platforms and container orchestration is required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of development and DevOps experience with cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for heavy-traffic web sites and mass-scale architectures.
  • Infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Automation using open-source tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack).
  • CI/CD pipelines across diverse virtual environments in public clouds.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Ruby, Go, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • 3–5 years experience with monitoring, logging, and dashboards (Datadog, New Relic, etc.).
  • SQL and NoSQL knowledge to evaluate data stores.
  • Experience configuring CDNs for global traffic and performance.
  • Familiarity with AWS networking and AI/ML concepts for observability.

We are currently seeking an accomplished Senior DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, crafting and scaling cloud services while supporting our multiple software products and brands across the organization, such as Matterport, Debt Solutions, CoStar Suites, LoopNet, Apartments.com, Homes.com, and Ten-X. You will develop automation to deploy, run, and monitor services across multiple public clouds, and collaborate with software architects and application teams around the globe to ensure optimal software delivery, performance, and scalability. This position is located in Sunnyvale, CA and has the work schedule of 4 days onsite and 1 day work from home.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, in-person, not for profit university or college.
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.
  • 5+ years of a healthy mix of development and DevOps experience with cloud service providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker containers, and Kubernetes, including experience managing heavy web traffic sites using mass scale architecture with a developer focus.
  • Solid sizing and estimation techniques for small to medium size tasks and projects.
  • Infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar platforms.
  • Expert experience with open-source technologies (such as Linux, APT, and others) and automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Saltstack).
  • Expert container experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms is a must.
  • Advanced experience of CI/CD pipelines to a wide variety of virtual environments in public cloud providers.
  • Strong ability to code your way out of problems using Python, Ruby, Go, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • 3 to 5 years managing monitoring, centralized logging, and reporting systems, building dashboards on application and server performance and scalability issues (examples: Datadog, SignalFX, New Relic, or other operations monitoring tools).
  • Conceptual understanding of SQL and No SQL databases, with the ability to evaluate and select appropriate solutions based on performance, cost and technical fit.
  • Experience with configuring Content Delivery Networks (CDN) for performance caching and global traffic management.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure foundation components of large networks in AWS.
  • Foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts and practical application as it applies to improving workflows, observability and team efficiency.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and enjoys working in a global team.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools in areas of APM, system vitals, synthetics and RUM.
  • Programming languages / some developer background with Java, C#, Python, or NodeJS.
  • Serverless architecture methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PCI compliance and remediation.
  • Mobile application support (iOS, Android).
  • Experience in REST API or Microservices development.
  • Agile methodologies and working on short sprint cycles.

This position offers an annual salary range from $169,000 - $211,000 determined by relevant skills and experience, in addition to a generous benefits plan.
