Sunbird Inc. is seeking a Senior Development Operations Engineer to join our software team. You will lead Linux hardening, packaging, CI/CD deployment automation and virtualization efforts while mentoring teammates.

The role emphasizes scripting in Bash, Perl, Python or Ruby, with experience on Rocky Linux/Red Hat and Jenkins-based pipelines. You will advance on-prem infrastructure, transition to containerized environments, and ensure secure, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have strong scripting experience (Bash with Perl/Python/Ruby).
• Deep understanding of Linux (Rocky Linux/Red Hat) including OS configuration, tuning and hardening.
• Experience creating kickstarts or similar system installation tech.
• Design and implement Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

Responsabilités

• Maintain Perl, Ruby and Shell scripts for deployment and configuration.
• Migrate admin scripts from Perl to Python or Ruby.
• Ensure system hardening and OS/software updates for security and compliance.
• Build and manage kickstarts for Rocky Linux deployments.
• Administer and support CI/CD pipelines and build automation with Jenkins.
• Automate PostgreSQL backups, deployments and upgrades.
• Support and resolve customer issues promptly; mentor others.
• Maintain on‑premises infrastructure (servers, storage, networking).
• Assist in transitioning solutions to containers.
• Follow company AI policy and use only approved tools.
