Job summary

VSO Inc. in Richardson, TX is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes/OpenShift) to build, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes environments end-to-end, from cluster and storage administration through CI/CD, GitOps, and cloud infrastructure.

You’ll be the go-to person when something breaks and will lead root-cause analysis and fix documentation. The ideal candidate has deep Linux system administration skills and hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, and AWS.

Qualifications

• Experience administering and troubleshooting Kubernetes-based environments (OpenShift and/or RKE2).
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes resources (Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets).
• Experience with persistent storage (PVs, PVCs, StorageClasses).
• Experience with Terraform and IaC.
• Experience with Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and automation workflows.
• Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, IAM, S3, VPC, CloudWatch).
• Experience with Argo CD and GitOps deployment practices.
• Familiarity with container technologies and registries (Harbor, Nexus, Artifactory).
• Experience with Linux system administration and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and troubleshoot Kubernetes/OpenShift-based environments end-to-end.
• Lead root-cause analysis and document resolutions to prevent recurrence.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve pod, pipeline, storage, or networking issues.
• Ensure security best practices for RBAC, Secrets, and access controls.
