Job summary

Independent Software, Inc. seeks a DevOps Software Engineer Level 3 to support the development, deployment, and administration of complex mission-critical systems for satellite communications.

You will blend software engineering, DevOps, Kubernetes, Linux, and infrastructure automation using C++ or Python. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver containerized solutions, design and operate Kubernetes environments, automate with Ansible and Git workflows, and ensure secure, compliant

Qualifications

• Strong Software Engineering and/or DevOps experience.
• Development experience with C++ and/or Python.
• Advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
• Experience with DevOps, Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and automation.
• Experience with Ansible and/or similar automation technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and sustain mission-critical software and infrastructure solutions.
• Develop software and automation using C++ and/or Python.
• Design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes environments.
• Support containerized applications, cluster networking, storage, monitoring, and security.
• Automate system configuration and deployment using Ansible, Bash, Python, and Git-based workflows.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and secure Linux environments, including RHEL and Rocky Linux.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and automated testing.
• Troubleshoot networking, software, infrastructure, and deployment issues. Collaborate directly with customers and engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Support GPU technologies and satellite/RF-related applications.
