Job summary

Blue Origin Engines is seeking an experienced DevOps professional to design and sustain CI/CD pipelines and container workflows for rocket engine software. You will manage GitLab pipelines, Docker images, and Ansible-based provisioning across developer workstations, VMs, and build servers.

The role emphasizes automation via Python and Shell, collaboration with IT and SRE teams, and delivering reproducible, safe development environments for safety-critical software initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or similar software engineering role.
• Linux administration on RHEL and/or CentOS; manage services, filesystems, users, permissions.
• Docker: build and maintain images, registries, Compose; image workflows.
• GitLab CI/CD and Runners: pipelines, build/test/deploy, secrets handling, release automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and the GitLab Runner fleet for engine software development.
• Own the container build and distribution path, including migration of Kaniko-based builds.
• Provision and manage developer workstations, VMs, build servers and containers as code using Ansible.
• Develop automation in Python and Shell to improve build/test throughput.
• Serve as first line of support for Docker and CI issues across software teams.
• Collaborate with external IT and SRE to secure resources and resolve cross-boundary issues.
