Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and scalable build environments for rocket engine software. The role focuses on automating pipelines, managing containers, and enabling reproducible development across teams.

You will work with GitLab, Ansible, Docker, and artifact repositories, ensuring reliability and security. The position requires hands-on work with pipelines, containers, and infrastructure as code,

Qualifications

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for engine software development.
• Experience with Linux systems administration and virtualization in development environments.
• Proficiency with container technologies and artifact repositories.
• Automation and tooling development in Python and Shell.
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving to support a safety-critical codebase.
• US citizenship or eligible work status.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Runner fleet across development stages.
• Own container build/distribution paths and migration to evolving toolchains.
• Provision and manage developer workstations, VMs, and build servers as code.
• Develop automation to improve build/test throughput and reduce errors.
• Provide first-line support for Docker and CI issues across teams.
• Collaborate with IT and SRE to secure resources and resolve cross-boundary issues.
• Identify infrastructure weaknesses and implement improvements.
• Maintain tooling for the safety-critical software development process.
