Humanoid in Massachusetts seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the build and test infrastructure for safety-critical firmware.

You will enhance a Bazel-based build system, integrate third-party safety tools, and deploy scalable CI/CD pipelines. The role sits at the intersection of embedded systems and developer infrastructure, partnering with firmware engineers to accelerate delivery while preserving safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience with Bazel-based build systems and CI/CD workflows.
• Proficient in Python for internal tooling and automation.
• Background in embedded toolchains and cross-compilation for safety-critical software.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or lab automation platforms.
• Ability to own and advance critical infrastructure beyond standard tooling.
• Collaborates with firmware engineers to improve development velocity and safety integrity.

Responsibilities

• Augment and maintain the firmware portion of Bazel-based build system for firmware and safety workflows.
• Integrate and automate specialized third-party tooling for functional safety development.
• Architect and deploy CI/CD pipelines to improve developer velocity with build integrity and traceability.
• Optimize GitHub Actions and runner infrastructure to reduce latency and support scalable firmware workflows.
• Help design and manage infrastructure for automated hardware testing including HIL environments.
• Create internal tooling with Python to bridge build, test, and analysis systems.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers to minimize friction in the development cycle.
