Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in DevOps and configuration management to support the OPTIMUS platform. You will lead automation pipelines, enforce governance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve build, test, and deployment processes for embedded software.

In this role, you’ll leverage Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and cloud services to scale reliability and security while maintaining developer productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of software development with DevOps and cloud experience.
• Strong experience building automation pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with cloud platforms and integrated virtual workspaces.
• Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Embedded software development tools and processes are understood.
• Familiar with test automation frameworks and Agile DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce repository governance and build environment standards.
• Improve platform reliability, security, and scalability across CI/CD tools.
• Collaborate with product, IT, site reliability, and security teams.
• Create monitors for build health and quality metrics.
• Design and maintain automation pipelines for embedded software production.
• Define best practices for build and test automation in CICD.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and secure deployment of OPTIMUS.
• Troubleshoot pipelines and quality gates with developers.
• Stay current with DevOps trends and apply improvements.
