Job summary

State Street in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to accelerate application modernization. You will transition legacy PVCS/ANT processes to GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Artifactory-driven deployments, and redesign environment promotion from TEST/ALPHA/BETA/PROD to a build-version-driven DEV/UAT/BUAT/PROD model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years hands-on Configuration Management experience.
• 5+ years in GitHub, CI/CD, Artifactory, build/release engineering, modernization.
• Proficient in UNIX/Linux and Windows automation (shell, Python, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of C/C++/Java, ANT, Make, MSBuild, Maven and packaging.
• DevSecOps experience and modern deployment architectures.
• Experience with SQL databases and microservices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of legacy development, build, and release processes to GitHub-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and implement modern delivery solutions: GitHub Actions, Artifactory promotion, DevSecOps controls, standardized deployment frameworks.
• Analyze and document legacy apps and build processes for migration planning and debt reduction.
• Develop automation using Python, Shell, and PowerShell to reduce manual tasks.
• Partner with teams to onboard apps into GitHub, SonarQube, and governance frameworks.
• Modernize packaging and environment promotion with artifact-driven release management.
• Support migration of UIs to React-based apps and container-ready deployment models.
• Promote quality via automated tests, release validation, and code reviews.
• Assist modernization initiatives including tool upgrades and secrets management.
