Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a DevOps Engineer - Level 3/4 in Redondo Beach, CA, to design and maintain secure containerized software for cloud deployments. You will implement robust CI/CD pipelines, automate testing, and enforce security gates across platforms.

The role requires a DoD Top Secret clearance readiness and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and IaC tooling. Strong collaboration with software, systems, and security teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Master's; 1 year with PhD; additional experience may substitute degree
• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI access
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining containerized applications (e.g., Docker)
• Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Experience building software for deployment to cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, or on‑prem)
• Experience developing CI/CD scripts to automate build processes (e.g., Jenkins, Python, GitLab)
• Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Argo CD, Defect Dojo, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Active Security+ Certification

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure containerized software components for cloud deployment
• Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters with networking, security, and observability
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with security gates and automated testing
• Perform security assessments on containerized apps and cloud deployments
• Develop infrastructure as code for repeatable deployments
• Collaborate with engineers to define secure architectures and deployment patterns
• Document designs, security controls, and operational procedures
