Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a DevOps Engineer - Level 3/4 for our Space Sector in Redondo Beach, CA. You will design and maintain secure containerized components for cloud environments, deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters, and build CI/CD pipelines with strong security controls.

You will collaborate with diverse engineering teams, perform security assessments, and contribute to infrastructure as code and automated testing practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Master's; 1 year with PhD; additional 4 years may substitute degree
• Must be able to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI access within a reasonable period
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining containerized applications (e.g., Docker)
• Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Experience building software for deployment to cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, or on‑prem)
• Experience developing CI/CD scripts to automate build processes (Jenkins, Python, GitLab)
• Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Argo CD, Defect Dojo, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Active Security+ Certification

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure containerized software components for cloud deployments
• Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters including networking, security, and observability
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enforce security gates and automated testing
• Perform security assessments on containerized apps and cloud deployments; drive remediation
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code for repeatable, auditable deployments
• Collaborate with software, systems, and security engineers to define secure architectures
• Document designs, security controls, and operational procedures for cloud deployments
