Job summary

Evlo AI in San Diego, CA is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, deploy, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure. You will manage AWS resources, Kubernetes workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and observability platforms to ensure reliable production services.

You will collaborate with software and security teams, implement IaC with Terraform, and drive incident response and disaster recovery testing while promoting strong reliability practices and automated workflows.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, or related infra role.
• Hands-on experience operating production workloads in AWS with networking, IAM, compute, storage, databases, and security controls.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform) and version-controlled workflows.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including workload scheduling, ingress, autoscaling, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD design, Git-based workflows, automated testing, release strategies, and deployment rollback patterns.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Bonus: Go, Argo CD, Helm, service mesh, OpenTelemetry, PostgreSQL operations, compliance automation, or multi-region DR.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain highly available AWS infrastructure using Terraform (VPCs, IAM, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, CloudFront).
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, including automated testing, security scans, progressive delivery, and rollbacks.
• Operate Kubernetes-based workloads, managing deployments, ingress, autoscaling, secrets, and cluster upgrades.
• Implement observability using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, and centralized logging for faster issue resolution.
• Automate operational workflows with Python, Go, or Bash to reduce manual provisioning, deployments, and incident response.
• Define and track reliability practices including SLI/SLOs, capacity planning, and disaster recovery testing.
• Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, document root-cause analyses, and deliver follow-up improvements.
