Job summary

FTI Defense seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and operate cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation for DoD, IC, and Federal programs. You will implement Terraform-based infrastructure, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and integrated security checks to uphold compliance standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, building durable, secure systems with cost-aware, scalable solutions in a government-facing environment. Dayton, OH area preferred.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with TS/SCI eligibility; current secret clearance preferred.
• 6+ years of DevOps engineering experience.
• Extensive cloud infrastructure experience on AWS GovCloud or similar.
• Strong automation with Python, Bash, Terraform and SSM.
• CI/CD pipelines across full software lifecycle (Azure DevOps or equivalent).
• Experience embedding security scanning and compliance gates into pipelines (DevSecOps).
• Familiarity with government/regulatory frameworks (NIST 800-53, STIG).

Responsibilities

• Build and improve automated CI/CD pipelines (ADO/GH) for code build, test, and deployment.
• Own infrastructure‑as‑code end‑to‑end using Terraform on AWS GovCloud/GCP.
• Containerize workloads with Docker; standardize base images and parity.
• Embed automated security scanning into pipelines to reduce vulnerabilities.
• Write automation and tooling in Python and TypeScript for CLIs and scripts.
• Set up observability: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting.
• Define environment strategy, deployment policy, tagging, cost controls; support ATO.
• Manage source repositories and version‑control workflows (ADO/GH).
