Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners (MRP) is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a downtown Chicago hybrid role. You will help expand and enhance the Platform Product team, tackling automation, self-service capabilities, and standardized solutions to minimize risk while accelerating delivery.

The role emphasizes cloud best practices across AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, FastAPI, and CI/CD pipelines. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software engineering, strong cross‑team collaboration, and hands-on

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, administration, and observability across multiple departments.
• 3+ years as a full-stack engineer building/operating production services (web frontends with React or similar).
• 3+ years coding in Python or Java across multi-team codebases.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and issue resolution.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes/containers and building services with FastAPI or similar.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Engineering teams to automate cloud processes across the SDLC.
• Advise Engineering Manager on secure defaults, clean coding practices, pipeline test coverage, and observability.
• Demonstrate a pro‑AI mindset; quickly learn new technologies and share knowledge.
• Build and evolve automated, self‑service solutions that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and consistency.
