Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a Chicago-based fintech company. This full-time, hybrid position focuses on building scalable cloud environments using AWS, containers, IaC, and GitOps.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE role.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, and Helm.
• Strong understanding of DevOps/SDLC principles with the ability to take ownership of projects.
• Experience with AWS core services including ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
• Experience with CI/CD technologies such as AWS CodePipeline, Spacelift, and CircleCI.
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
• Proven track record of strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Assist in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Monitor system health, analyze performance, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Partner with engineering teams to enhance application performance, availability, and scalability.
• Uphold cloud security best practices across infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Contribute to high-quality software delivery through code reviews, documentation, and best practices.
• Execute operational procedures, including runbooks and production deployments, with accuracy.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule to support production systems.
