Job summary

NextAxiom Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer / Systems Administrator to own and improve infrastructure, automation, and deployment practices supporting software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, build/release engineering, software infrastructure, platform engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related role, with hands-on responsibility for software delivery environments.
• Experience designing, administering, or improving CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or comparable platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of Git version control, branching strategies, automated builds, release management, and deployment workflows.
• Experience with Docker and containerized development or deployment workflows.
• Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or comparable languages.
• Hands-on experience with drag-and-drop development tools, low-code/no-code platforms, visual app builders, workflow designers, or similar configurable environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise SaaS, configurable enterprise applications, or software product development organizations.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration to support development and production infra.
• Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and secure connectivity.
• Experience with SQL databases and application-supporting middleware.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own, administer, and continuously improve software development, build, test, release, and deployment infrastructure.
• Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for reliable builds and releases.
• Manage Git repos, branching, and release workflows with build triggers and artifact handling.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, environment config, deployment activities, and release processes.
• Build and maintain containerized development and deployment environments using Docker.
• Manage application servers, databases, middleware, build agents, and artifact repositories.
• Coordinate release packaging, environment promotion, deployment, rollback, and validation activities.
• Monitor build/deploy environments for reliability, performance, capacity, and failure trends.
• Collaborate with engineering/QA to reduce deployment friction and improve productivity.
• Support configurable, low-code development environments and drag-and-drop configurations across environments.
• Establish standards and guardrails for visual development tools for consistent management.
• Integrate security controls into development/deployment workflows including credential mgmt and vulnerability remediation.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, logging, alerting, and monitoring for build/deploy/infra issues.
• Document procedures for build, deployment, config, recovery, and environment management.
