Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to strengthen the Department of State’s CI/CD capabilities. You will design automated deployment pipelines, IaC frameworks, and configuration management across cloud and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Systems, or equivalent years of experience.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance (required).
5+ years of DevOps experience.
Experience developing Azure-based automation pipelines.
Experience with Windows and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

Implement CI/CD pipelines to meet business requirements using technologies such as PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible.
Modify and create flows in Azure DevOps server via YAML pipelines.
Collaborate on solutions to novel requirements.
Maintain and develop Desired State Configuration templates.
Maintain and operate Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines.
Identify and implement automation to supplant manual tasks.
Ensure periodic environment updates based on cybersecurity needs.
Provide DevOps leadership and engineering utilizing tools and scripts to automate common tasks (on-prem or in the cloud).
Utilize tools and scripts to automate common tasks.
Identify and implement process improvements, such as automation, streamlining, and alignment with DevOps/DevSecOps best practices.
Experience with configuration management tools, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, SCCM, WSUS, or Phire.
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations.
Experience with Azure Cloud technologies with working knowledge of AWS.
