Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our growing practice, delivering features to support cloud and application development. The role requires 3–5 years of experience with cloud services and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and secure software delivery.

The candidate will establish automation infrastructure, implement IaC, and collaborate with developers to improve release processes while maintaining security and compliance across platforms.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.
• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience.
• 3 Years of Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• 3 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket.
• 3 Years of Experience with programming or scripting languages.
• 3 Years of application DevSecOps experience in an Agile environment.
• 3 Years of Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes.
• 3 Years of Experience with infrastructure as code and orchestration.
• 3 Years of Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI.
• 3 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Establish development tools and infrastructure for automation.
• Understand stakeholder needs and convey to developers.
• Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Test and examine code written by others and analyze results.
• Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop fixes.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure processes and tooling work as intended.
• Support enterprise Cloud apps via infrastructure as code, automation, and CI/CD.
• Document current environment state, perform gap analysis, and provide options.
• Leverage virtualization and containerization to modernize software systems.
• Act as an individual contributor and mentor junior team members.
• Drive continuous improvement for DevSecOps processes and tools.
• Present status updates and provide cross-training to the team.
