Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Development Engineer III to design, implement, launch and support our corporate DevOps pipeline operations. The role emphasizes CI/CD automation, stakeholder engagement, and leadership in DevOps practices across multiple software groups.

The position requires advanced scripting, strong communication skills, and 5+ years of DevOps experience with GitLab/GitHub, Docker, and cloud platforms. ITAR considerations and travel within the continental U.S. may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of work experience managing diverse DevOps operations and tools (GitLab, GitHub)
• Minimum of 1 year experience with containerization (Docker or ECS) and orchestration on Windows and Linux hosts
• Strong scripting and communication skills are required

Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains Gitlab
• Architects and delivers DevOps pipeline operations for CI/CD
• Creates and maintains Docker images and containers
• Identifies and automates manual processes
• Enhances build infrastructure, deployment, and DevOps processes
• Works with JIRA and Sharepoint
• Develops and maintains software installation tools and packages
• Creates DevOps processes and policies
• Reuses code bases across programs
• Delivers work on time within schedule and budget
• Mentors stakeholders in a learning environment
• Acts independently on new assignments
• Performs additional duties as assigned
