Job summary

AeroVironment is hiring a Development Engineer, Principal (DevOps) to lead automation of our CI/CD pipelines across software groups. You will architect DevOps operations, build Docker images, and drive process improvements while collaborating with senior leadership.

The role requires substantial stakeholder engagement, strong communication, and the ability to deliver on-time in a fast-paced setting. U.S. citizenship and ITAR compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) is required or equivalent.
• 12+ years managing diverse DevOps operations and tools (GitLab, GitHub).
• 5+ years with containerization (Docker/ECS) and orchestration on Windows and Linux.
• Experience with one or more cloud providers (Azure, AWS).
• Proven track record delivering applications in large corporations.

Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains Gitlab and Subversion.
• Architects and delivers DevOps pipeline operations for CI/CD.
• Creates and maintains Docker images and containers.
• Automates manual processes and improves build infrastructure.
• Works with JIRA and SharePoint; supports multiple internal customers.
• Develops and maintains installation tools, processes, and packages.
• Creates DevOps processes and policies; reuses shared code bases.
• Delivers work on time per project schedules and budgets.
• Mentors stakeholders and operates in a learning environment.
• Addresses significant issues with analysis of data and intangibles.
