Job summary

RCT Systems is seeking a capable DevOps professional to manage AWS resources with CloudFormation and SDKs, and to develop robust CI/CD pipelines. You will work with Ruby/Python/Java as needed, build Docker containers, and assist with Puppet automation in a collaborative team environment.

The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph, 5+ years in OOP, and strong scripting and orchestration skills. On-site work in Herndon, VA with a friendly, learning-focused culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years AWS experience building resources with CloudFormation and AWS SDKs (Ruby, Python, Java, etc).
• TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• 5+ years of Object Oriented Programming (Ruby, Python, Java, or NodeJS).
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines and CI/CD best practices.
• 1–2 years Docker and container orchestration (Docker Compose, ECS).
• 5 years Bash scripting experience.
• 2+ years GitHub and branching strategies.
• Team player and collaborative across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation and SDKs.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins Groovy scripts and shared libraries.
• Build and maintain Docker containers and orchestration configurations (ECS, Docker Compose).
• Collaborate with development teams to apply AWS best practices and secure architectures.
• Assist with Puppet-based software installation and platform automation.
