Job summary

RCT Systems is seeking a solid DevOps candidate in Herndon, VA with deep AWS experience, CloudFormation, and AWS SDK usage across Ruby, Python, or Java. You will work as a software engineer and systems administrator to support infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires Jenkins pipelines with Groovy, shared libraries, Docker, ECS or Docker Compose, Puppet familiarity, and strong collaboration to follow architectural best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AWS experience with CloudFormation and AWS SDK usage across Ruby/Python/Java.
• TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• 5+ years of Object Oriented Programming background (Ruby/Python/Java/NodeJS).
• Experience with Jenkins and building pipelines (Groovy) and CI/CD best practices.
• At least 1–2 years in Docker and container orchestration (Docker Compose, ECS).
• 5 years of Bash scripting experience.
• 2+ years with GitHub and branching strategies.
• Team player capable of collaborating across skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Support AWS resources and IaC using CloudFormation and SDKs.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins Groovy libraries.
• Build and maintain Docker containers and orchestration with ECS or Docker Compose.
• Collaborate with teams to apply architectural best practices and automate deployments.
