Job summary

BusPatrol is seeking a hands-on Sr DevOps Engineer in Austin to modernize our platform across infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and security. You will transform manual processes into reliable systems that accelerate engineering teams while maintaining production readiness.

The role focuses on secure, spec-driven workflows, robust release gates, and scalable internal platforms, enabling AI-enabled delivery with governance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering.
• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or related roles.
• Hands-on AWS and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, and CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Strong documentation habits and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure using IaC patterns.
• Define and improve the engineering paved road for service delivery and guardrails.
• Build, maintain, and harden CI/CD pipelines with secure release workflows.
• Improve security gates, dependencies checks, and policy enforcement.
• Strengthen observability with logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with teams to improve reliability, performance, and production readiness.
• Support AI-enabled software delivery with spec-driven workflows and governance.
• Contribute to AI delivery systems aligned with guardrails for data and changes.
• Enhance developer experience with self-service tooling and templates.
• Participate in incident response and continuous improvement efforts.
