Job summary

Skills Alliance is seeking a Senior DevOps & Release Engineer to own the Linux infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes for our AI-powered surgical software. This role focuses on on-prem Debian/Ubuntu systems and ensuring builds are repeatable and auditable.

You will implement security controls, support FDA inspections and ISO audits, manage ML/AI inference lifecycle with versioning, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• Deep Linux administration, ideally Debian or Ubuntu.
• Bare-metal or on-premise systems experience.
• Python, Bash, and C++ programming.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, or a similar CI/CD platform.
• GitHub administration and source control governance.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences (preferred).
• Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.

Responsibilities

• Own the build, packaging, release, rollback, and patch management process for Linux based medical software.
• Administer Debian Linux systems on bare-metal devices, not the cloud.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or TeamCity, ensuring every output is auditable.
• Implement security controls, including least-privilege access, secrets management, and audit logging.
• Support FDA inspections, ISO audits, and validation activities through clear documentation.
• Support lifecycle management of ML/AI inference components, including versioning and traceability.
• Mentor junior DevOps and platform engineers.

Their Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) solutions support surgeons with real-time guidance during orthopaedic procedures.
