Job summary

PayZen, headquartered in San Francisco, seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to advance our AI-driven infrastructure strategy across AWS and GCP, focusing on automation, stability, and performance.

You will own CI/CD, configuration management with Terraform, and observability using Prometheus and Grafana, collaborating with engineering teams and supporting on-call incidents.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering role.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes and Docker for design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Scripting in Bash or Python for automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Terraform configuration management.
• Familiarity with Linux and web servers/load balancers (Nginx).

• Develop and maintain robust Configuration Management solutions (Terraform) for consistent environment provisioning and management.

• Administer and troubleshoot operating systems, encompassing Linux
• Implement and optimize observability practices using monitoring tools like Prometheus for logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Automate repetitive tasks and system operations using scripting languages, primarily Bash and Python.
• Collaborate closely with development, data, and security teams to ensure infrastructure supports product requirements and compliance standards.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure service reliability and responsiveness to incidents.

About The Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our infrastructure strategy, focusing on AI-driven: automation, stability, and performance across cloud environments. You will drive best practices in CI/CD, configuration management, and monitoring. In this role, you will report to the Director of DevOps, collaborating closely with Engineering teams. This position is based in our San Francisco headquarters with in-office days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering role.
• Deep expertise in containerization and orchestration, specifically Kubernetes (design, deployment, and troubleshooting) and Docker.
• Strong proficiency in managing Cloud infrastructure Cloud (AWS, GCP)
• Comfortable building with LLMs as infrastructure tools (Bedrock/Claude agents, MCP)
• Extensive experience with monitoring and observability platforms (tools like Prometheus/Grafana, New Relic)
• 2-3 years of experience in with cloud platforms like AWS/GCP/Azure
• Solid understanding of Web Servers, Networking, Load Balancers, Nginx, etc.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python or equivalent.

Compensation Range: $179K - $210K
