SuccessFactors, Inc. seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer at our Reston, VA location to develop and implement database backup and recovery strategy and solutions.
Control system resources usage, perform troubleshooting and diagnostics activities. Responsible for the installation, configurations and maintenance of MySQL database standalone & master‑master cluster, DR setup. Analyze resources usage (Infra and Database), analyze growth patterns, perform capacity planning for the Database Infrastructure. Collect and analyze database performance information; identify and implement solutions for performance problems. Utilize query optimization and tuning skills including cross database and cross server queries, analysis and troubleshooting interactions between databases, operating systems and applications with regard to performance and resources usage. Create database tables, setting up indexes, data constraints and database views. Analyze and predict through trend analysis and resolve database system, storage and application issues. Monitor jobs in production and be responsible for load/hardware analysis mapping, fault tolerance and security. Evaluate and implement database technologies and utilities. Perform database upgrades, patching, migrations. Review and implement database changes. Participate in rotation shift supporting production and non‑production databases of MySQL and MSSQL and provide timely response to system alerts. Drive operational efficiency topics. Work closely with stakeholders, development architects/managers and developers across locations and ensure timely delivery. Participate and contribute towards organization’s goals and objectives, collaborating with multiple teams and solutions.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
