Job summary

Autonomai Recruitment seeks a senior engineer to build and run the central developer platform used by a global investment firm's engineers, researchers and investment teams. You will own critical platform components, write code, and make CI/CD, source control and Kubernetes workflows faster and more reliable.

You’ll design scalable CI/CD pipelines, develop tooling in Python or Go, and operate Kubernetes platforms across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software, DevOps or platform engineering in distributed environments.
• Strong programming ability in Python or Go; comfortable designing and maintaining software.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise: deploying, managing and scaling applications.
• Significant experience designing and building CI/CD platforms and automating the software delivery lifecycle.
• Experience supporting a central developer platform used by a large engineering organization.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, Kubernetes Operators).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and on-premises systems.

Build the platform behind a global investment firm.

We are working with a global investment firm whose engineers, researchers and investment teams depend on its central platform to build, test and ship software at scale.

This team owns critical parts of the developer experience: source control, CI/CD, artifact infrastructure, Kubernetes and the tooling that connects them. Its platforms serve more than 1,000 users, execute millions of builds each year and support systems at the heart of a demanding production environment.

We’re looking for a senior engineer who enjoys building software as much as building infrastructure. You’ll take ownership of complex platform problems, write code, and make it faster and more reliable for other engineers to deliver their work.

What you’ll work on:

• Design and build CI/CD infrastructure that supports a high volume of builds across multiple engineering teams.
• Develop platform tooling and automation in Python or Go.
• Engineer and operate Kubernetes based platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Improve source control, artifact management and the wider software delivery workflow.
• Build scalable APIs and infrastructure automation that give developers greater autonomy.
• Partner directly with engineering teams to understand bottlenecks and turn them into durable platform improvements.
• Contribute to observability, production reliability and the team’s on-call rotation.

What we’re looking for:

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in software engineering, DevOps or platform engineering within complex, distributed environments.
• Strong programming ability in Python or Go. You should be comfortable designing and maintaining software, not just writing scripts.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise, including deploying, managing and improving applications at scale.
• Significant experience designing and building CI/CD platforms and automating the software development lifecycle.
• Experience supporting a central developer platform used by a large engineering organisation.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or Kubernetes Operators.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, and on-premises systems.

A background in software development followed by a move into DevOps or platform engineering would be particularly well suited to this team.
