Job summary

Techfellow Limited is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to drive the developer platform stack. You will own CI/CD, build scalable infrastructure, and elevate release automation across a large, distributed software estate.

The role demands strong Python/Go coding and hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern DevOps tooling. Hybrid work model with 4 days in New York office is offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on Platform Engineering, SRE or DevOps in distributed production environments.
• Build and evolve internal developer platforms for source control, CI/CD and automated delivery.
• Strong coding in Python or Go for infrastructure problems.
• Own CI/CD and SDLC automation with Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Octopus Deploy.
• Design and operate containerised platforms using Kubernetes and IaC with Terraform.
• Develop REST APIs to expose platform capabilities and self-service workflows.
• Improve production resilience via observability and incident response.

Role Overview

We’re representing a global investment organisation strengthening the platform engineering function behind a large and technically demanding software estate. The team provides the engineering foundations used by developers, researchers and investment technology groups to build, validate, release and operate software across both cloud and internally hosted infrastructure.

This hire will focus on the developer platforms sitting at the centre of that lifecycle. The remit spans source control, build and release infrastructure, deployment automation and the underlying services required to process extremely high volumes of engineering activity reliably. This is fundamentally a hands‑on platform engineering position rather than an operational DevOps role. Role Snapshot

• Bring 7+ years of hands‑on Platform Engineering, SRE or DevOps experience supporting complex, distributed production environments


• Build and evolve internal developer platforms spanning source control, build systems, CI/CD infrastructure and automated software delivery


• Demonstrate strong software engineering ability in Python or Go, using code to solve infrastructure and platform problems rather than relying primarily on configuration


• Own CI/CD and SDLC automation at significant scale, with deep experience of platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy or comparable tooling


• Engineer reliable infrastructure capable of supporting very high volumes of builds, artefacts, applications and requests across shared technology services


• Design and operate containerised platforms using Kubernetes, including application orchestration, production troubleshooting and platform optimisation


• Apply infrastructure as code and configuration automation through technologies such as Terraform and Kubernetes Operators


• Build and integrate REST APIs and supporting services that allow development teams to consume platform capabilities programmatically and through self‑service workflows


• Improve production resilience through observability, automation, incident response, fault‑tolerant design and participation in an engineering on‑call rotation


• (Preferred) Bring experience operating across both AWS and on‑premises infrastructure, particularly within technology‑intensive financial services, trading or similarly demanding engineering environments
