Job summary

Tower Research Capital in New York seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to build, operate, and improve the software delivery and developer infrastructure for large-scale C++ and Python applications. This role combines platform engineering, CI/CD, build systems, infrastructure automation, observability, and developer productivity.

The ideal candidate has strong systems engineering fundamentals and practical experience supporting complex engineering workflows in production-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years building or operating software delivery, CI/CD, DevOps, SRE, or platform systems.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting and administration capabilities.
• Experience with large C++ codebases and build tools (CMake/Ninja/Bazel/Buck2).
• Python packaging, environment management, and scripting skills.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms, artifacts, and secrets handling.
• Familiarity with containerization and cloud/hybrid infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Strong communication and global-collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve tools that boost developer productivity and platform reliability.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, and artifact workflows.
• Collaborate with Platform, Release Engineering, and DevOps teams to align regional and global standards.
• Develop self-service tooling to reduce operational toil and improve workflows.
• Implement observability and security controls across build and deployment platforms.
• Troubleshoot performance, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure services.
