Job summary

Fluence Energy, LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a hybrid team blending Platform Engineering, SRE, and development. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, software engineering, or related field.
• Experience building software automation with Ansible and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Jenkins.
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes; monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana and Zabbix.
• IaC and cloud infrastructure management on AWS with Terraform and CloudFormation; logging with Datadog, Elasticsearch and Splunk.

DUTIES

• Go beyond traditional DevOps – this role blends Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, and Development responsibilities.

• Support multiple software products across global environments.
• Identify and drive opportunities to automate build, deployment, management, and tooling.
• Design, deploy, and manage development infrastructure services both on-premises and in AWS.
• Deliver product deployment automation solutions critical to our software.
• Enhance system observability with metrics, monitoring, and alerting.
• Review and recommend tools and processes to improve the software development lifecycle.
• Guide developers with best practices, troubleshooting support, documentation, and training sessions.
• Collaborate effectively in a global, distributed team via video and chat, with occasional travel.
• Accept the hybrid work model – in-office presence required at least 2 days per week.
• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or a related field followed by 7 years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience must include 7 years with each of the following: Building software automation with Ansible CI/CD pipeline development using GitHub and Jenkins Containerization and orchestration using Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes System monitoring and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, and Zabbix Cloud infrastructure management and scaling on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Using Terraform and CloudFormation Monitoring, observability, and centralized Logging using Datadog, Elasticsearch, and Splunk
