Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer for the Decision Management Platform. You will architect and operate high-volume, low-latency infra across public cloud and on‑prem environments, drive CI/CD pipelines, and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.

The role requires deep Kubernetes expertise, Terraform/CloudFormation, and strong scripting skills. You will collaborate with global teams and contribute hands-on to automation efforts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Software Engineering and DevOps roles, with leadership experience.
• Strong Linux systems administration background.
• Deep familiarity with AWS cloud environments.
• Proven experience with container orchestration and tooling (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker Compose).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, XLR).
• Proficient in scripting and programming (Bash, Python, Java).
• Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Loki).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Experience with FinOps or cloud cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Architect, provision, and manage cloud and on-prem infrastructure for high-volume systems.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe delivery across global data centers.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to design scalable, reliable systems.
• Champion infrastructure as code principles with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Drive observability and reliability through monitoring and logging tools.
• Lead and mentor teams while hands-on coding and automation remain a focus.
• Align DevOps initiatives with uptime, deployment velocity, and cost efficiency.
