Job summary

Ascensus, a leading independent technology and service platform for savings plans, seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to provide architectural oversight and drive platform engineering across multiple scrum teams. You will embed security into pipelines, promote containerized architectures on Kubernetes, and optimize for scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

10+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Build & Release roles.
Experience designing DevOps architecture in enterprise-scale environments.
Strong experience with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD.
Hands-on in Linux and Windows deployments.
Automation/scripting with PowerShell, Python.
Proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Microservices and cloud-native architectures.
Networking, load balancing, service discovery.
SRE practices and reliability metrics.
Experience with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog).
Experience with AWS and large enterprise platforms.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide architectural oversight for DevOps and platform engineering across multiple scrum teams.
Lead design and implementation of automated CI/CD pipelines including build, test, release, and deployment workflows.
Embed security controls into pipelines (DevSecOps).
Drive adoption of containerized and cloud-native architectures using Kubernetes-based platforms.
Ensure platforms meet standards for scalability, resiliency, performance, and cost efficiency.
Guide teams on service networking, API management, load balancing, and traffic management.
Support high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
Provide Level-3 support for complex production incidents and reliability challenges.
Partner with operations and engineering teams to improve observability, monitoring, and alerting.
Mentor engineers on DevOps practices, tools, and architectural decision-making.
Promote automation, ownership, continuous improvement, and quality.
