Job summary

Apkudo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Device OS to design, build, and maintain Python-based software that interfaces with custom hardware platforms and third‑party devices. You will author hardware drivers, implement robust state machines for complex workflows, and develop RESTful APIs, SQL-backed storage, and async, event-driven components to keep pipelines responsive at scale.

Qualifications

• Proven track record shipping production systems with clean code and tests.
• 5+ years of Python as a primary production language.
• Experience writing hardware drivers and interfacing via serial/USB/I2C/SPI.
• Ability to design maintainable state machines for device/workflow control.
• Strong async programming experience with asyncio or similar.
• Backend/RESTful API design and implementation experience.
• Solid SQL knowledge and data schema design.
• Exposure to computer vision in OpenCV or ML pipelines.
• Hands-on hardware experience or embedded projects.
• BS in CS, EE, or related field; practical experience counts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python software interfacing with hardware.

• Architect and implement state machines for device workflows.
• Write asynchronous, non-blocking code for concurrent pipelines.
