Job summary

CHCF seeks a Development Director to lead fundraising efforts, diversify funding sources, and secure gifts from individuals, foundations, and government agencies. The role reports to the President & CEO and collaborates with the Board to sustain annual support.

The ideal candidate will develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy, supervise staff, manage budgets, and engagekey stakeholders to advance CHCF’s mission and programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit leadership, communications, marketing, or a related field.
• 5+ years in development with a proven fundraising track record.
• Ability to assess priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure.
• Outgoing, energetic, and self-motivated.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
• Manage Salesforce and collaborate with team members responsible for data entry and major gift processing.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with government officials.
• Establish and maintain strong communication with CHCF’s community: staff, board members, volunteers, interns, and contributors.
• Develop, implement, and oversee the department’s budgeting, and produce monthly status reports of all fundraising efforts.
• Develop a tracking mechanism for all outgoing proposals.
• Supervise departmental staff and provide opportunities for professional growth and development.
• Develop and execute a strategic work plan to increase support and engagement for our annual fundraising Gala.
• Arrange on-site cultivation meetings with potential funders.
• Work closely with the President/CEO to establish fundraising target goals.
• Secure financial commitment from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Conduct research, prospecting, and growing donor sources.
