HLS Trading is seeking a Senior Developer to own and extend the trading and research platform, working with Python and C++ components, data pipelines, and model interfaces. You will collaborate with the investment team to translate research needs into robust technical solutions.

The role emphasizes reliability, observability, and scalable architecture, with a path toward leading a development team as the firm grows. Hybrid work in Miami or Greenwich is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including real-time trading systems or research platforms.
• Expert-level Python for large-scale data processing with NumPy, Pandas, Polars, PyTorch, or similar.
• Working proficiency in C++ for performance-sensitive components.
• Hands-on experience with very large datasets and time-series databases and columnar formats.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
• Advanced, hands-on use of LLM coding tools and agents as a core part of builds.

Responsibilities

• Own real-time market data ingestion into models and position management.
• Extend connectors for live data feeds, broker connections, and vendor APIs.
• Maintain latency-sensitive C++ components.
• Build pipelines for tick-level and historical data with validation.
• Design data models, storage, and query APIs for large datasets.
• Develop Python tooling for backtesting and research reproducibility.
• Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and logging across systems.
• Set testing and deployment standards, including replay testing.
• Provide technical leadership to guide future development teams.
