Job summary

HLS Trading is a systematic macro fund with offices in Miami, FL and Greenwich, CT. The Senior Developer owns the platform behind our trading and research, extending a Python-based core with high-performance C++ components and a robust data and market data infrastructure.

The role focuses on reliability, observability, and scalable tooling, working closely with the investment team to turn research needs into durable technical solutions. Hybrid work in Miami or Greenwich.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including real-time trading systems or research platforms.
• Expert-level Python, with large-scale data processing using NumPy, Pandas, Polars, PyTorch, or similar.
• Working proficiency in C++ for performance-sensitive components.
• Hands-on experience with very large datasets and time-series DBs, and columnar formats (Parquet, DuckDB, ClickHouse).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
• Advanced, hands-on use of LLM coding tools and agents in development.

Responsibilities

• Own the real-time trading and research platform and its production readiness.
• Extend and harden connectors ingesting live data and market feeds.
• Improve data pipelines for tick-level and historical data with performance focus.
• Develop Python tooling for research, model evaluation, and backtesting.
• Lead architecture decisions and help form a growing engineering team.
