The Role

We seek a Senior Developer experienced with Ruby on Rails to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions. You will work on customer-facing and admin products, third-party integrations, and help architect scalable, reliable systems.

• Problem solving for development issues, understanding root causes, leveraging data
• Building, maintaining, and architecting core web and mobile applications
• Integrating with third-party tools and services
• Participating in agile processes: sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups
• Collaborating with Product, Customer Care, Finance on product issues and features
• Adhering to SDLC and secure coding practices
• Mentoring, code reviews, knowledge sharing, pairing on complex stories
• Supporting ZayZoon’s mission to provide responsible financial products

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails experience with production applications
• Experience with scale, concurrency, queuing, background processing, third-party data ingestion
• Strong fundamentals: SOLID, domain-driven design, performant code, testing
• Ability to build quickly for experimentation, clean for core features
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills
• Full stack mentality: ownership from backend to frontend, testing, demos, delivery
• Experience with agile development, sprints, Scrum
• Tools: Git, Github, Jira, preferred sense of humor (animated gifs)

Bonus Skills

• Experience with BI tools (Metabase, Looker), ETL
• React or React Native skills
• Interest or experience in DevOps, cloud services, AWS
• Financial tech, accounting, or banking background
