About Us
Seeds is a fast-growing early-stage RIA fintech startup on a mission to empower financial advisors to supercharge their business growth while delivering a meaningful investing experience for their clients!
At Seeds, our core values are the heartbeat of our Company: Trust is our currency and we champion transparency, active listening, collaboration, and a spirit of polite disruption. We're dedicated to pursuing excellence in all that we do. Our clients are the heroes in our story, and we strive to make their needs the focal point of our innovative solutions.
We are eager to welcome ambitious, energetic, and curious-minded individuals to join our innovative and passionate team where every contribution is appreciated, different perspectives are valued, and every voice matters. As a remote-first company, we pride ourselves on having a strong work ethic while embracing flexibility, a healthy work-life balance, and the freedom to work from anywhere in the U.S. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with a small talented team with extensive experience and knowledge in financial services, technology, and startups. Together, you’ll be at the forefront of wealth tech innovation, committed to reshaping a $6.6+ trillion industry and fostering meaningful connections between individuals and their finances.
The Role
We’re hiring a Senior Developer to own meaningful surface area across our product and platform. This is our anchor engineering level — the load-bearing level where most of our hands-on building happens — so it carries real ownership, not just task execution. You’ll work full-stack across our .NET Core / C# back end, React / TypeScript front end, PostgreSQL data layer, and AWS infrastructure, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle and to the technical direction of the product.
We expect our engineers to operate as builders and to treat AI as a core part of how modern software gets made. AI-assisted development is table stakes here: we use it to move faster, to raise quality, and increasingly to design systems and harnesses that let agents do meaningful work under human direction. We are looking for someone who uses these tools fluently and owns the result — AI is an enhancement to a strong engineer, never a replacement for engineering judgment.
Meaningful Contributions You’ll Make:
- Build across the stack. Design, develop, test, and ship features and services spanning our .NET Core / C# back end, React / TypeScript front end, PostgreSQL data layer, and AWS infrastructure.
- Own outcomes, not just tickets. Take a problem from ambiguity to a shipped, reliable, maintainable solution — and stand behind the result in production.
- Operate as an AI-native builder. Use AI coding tools fluently to increase your velocity and the quality of your output, while remaining the accountable owner of everything you ship. Help us push the frontier of agentic development practices — building the prompts, tooling, evaluations, and guardrails that let us safely delegate more of the work to agents over time.
- Raise the engineering bar. Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code; strengthen our testing (unit, integration, e2e), CI/CD, and DevOps practices; and improve the systems you touch.
- Think like a product owner. Translate advisor and investor needs into technical solutions, and continuously look for ways to improve the experience — not just implement the spec as handed to you.
- Grow domain fluency. Build a working command of our investment, advisor, and trading domain — and its regulatory context — so you can make sound, compliant decisions on technical approach independently. (Prior wealth-tech/FinTech experience is a plus, but we hire for the ability to learn this fast)
- Collaborate across functions. Work with product, design, and leadership to define requirements and architecture, and communicate technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and multiply. Raise the people around you through code review, pairing, and example — fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and high standards.
- Keep it safe and sound. Help ensure the reliability, availability, and security of our applications in a regulated financial-services context.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- 5+ years building and shipping production web applications, full-stack, ideally on a small team that ships frequently.
- Strong back-end skills in C# / .NET Core (or demonstrable senior-level proficiency in a comparable modern, statically-typed back-end ecosystem with a credible path to .NET).
- Strong front-end skills in React and TypeScript , with a real eye for user-facing quality and advancing design system implementations.
- Solid relational-database skills with PostgreSQL and a working understanding of ORMs, data modeling, and query performance.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating on AWS , comfortable with modern DevOps: infrastructure-as-code, build/deploy pipelines, containers (Docker), and observability.
- Fluency with AI-assisted development — you already build with AI coding tools and frameworks daily, you have a point of view on where they help and where they don’t, and you hold a high bar for the output you ship with them. You can speak to real examples of using AI, and advancing the use of AI, to deliver materially faster without lowering quality.
- Demonstrated ownership and strong engineering judgment — you make sound trade-off decisions independently, anticipate edge cases, and care about correctness, testing, and maintainability.
- Excellent communication and collaboration , including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and comfort working in an Agile environment.
- A solid grasp of software-engineering principles, design patterns, and security best practices.
- Start-up experience — you’ve thrived in a small, fast-moving, ambiguity-rich environment and know how to make pragmatic trade-offs with limited resources.
Nice to Have:
- Financial services / FinTech / wealth-tech experience , and comfort working in a regulated context (e.g., exposure to SOC 2 or similar).
- Experience designing or operating agentic / AI-augmented systems or workflows — building tooling, evals, prompts, or guardrails that let agents do meaningful work under human direction.
- Experience building AI product capabilities — you've shipped AI-powered features and have hands-on depth with parts of the modern AI engineering stack, such as: BAML, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), agent / tool development, RAG pipelines, data-privacy protection for AI systems, and direct model APIs (e.g., Anthropic) and/or enterprise-grade AI platforms (e.g., AWS Bedrock).
- Cloud architecture and security depth on AWS.
How We Work With AI (so you know what you’re signing up for)
We believe AI has become table stakes. Our expectations:
- AI is an enhancement, not a replacement. A strong builder with AI is the bar; AI does not lower the bar for judgment, systems thinking, or accountability.
- You own your output. No “the model wrote it” — you are the accountable owner of everything you ship, held to the same standard as hand-written work. That bar is especially high when the data feeds money-touching and advisor-facing decisions.
- We’re building toward agentic development. This only increases the importance of strong computer science fundamentals and systems thinking.
