Job summary

Spectrum in Austin is seeking a Senior Designer of Virtual Sets to lead the design, development and management of immersive news sets using Zero Density and VIZrt. You’ll collaborate with broadcast and creative teams to push visual storytelling across Spectrum Networks.

The role requires 5+ years in 3D design and animation, proficiency with Cinema 4D and the Adobe suite, and a track record in broadcast design. Office-based with occasional travel and extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of 3D design and animation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and texturing of virtual sets for Spectrum Networks.
• Collaborate with news and creative services teams to plan compelling virtual environments.
• Create animations for augmented reality using high-end rendering tools.
• Maintain and update virtual sets; ensure consistency with style guide.
• Uphold Spectrum Networks’ style guide in co-branded materials.
• Provide updates to stakeholders on set development and management.

Collaborate with creative and technical teams to elevate visual storytelling, ensuring seamless operation and impactful results for Spectrum Networks. Your expertise will directly influence the quality and innovation of our on-air presentation.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Lead the development, design and texturing of virtual sets for multiple uses across Spectrum Networks
• Collaborate with news and creative services teams to plan and produce compelling virtual environments
• Utilize advanced creative skills and technology expertise to craft animations for augmented reality
• Maintain, expand and consistently update virtual sets to ensure ongoing excellence
• Uphold Spectrum Networks’ style guide in all co-branded materials
• Manage upkeep of assigned company equipment, ensuring readiness and reliability
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to introduce new design perspectives and ideas
• Attend stakeholder meetings to provide updates on set development and management

Working Conditions
