Job summary

Gensler in Tampa seeks a Senior Designer to lead design and technical execution of Core & Shell and Base Building projects, translating sketches into robust 2D/3D models and detailed drawings.

You will collaborate with a design team, mentor junior designers, and ensure design intent, sustainability, and building standards are met from concept through build. This role requires strong communication and a passion for experiential, functional architecture in a collaborative office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 10+ years of related project experience at commercial interior design or architecture firm.
• Proficiency in Revit required.
• Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as CAD, Enscape, 3ds MAX, Sketch-up and/or Rhino utilizing V-Ray a plus.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp.
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; include LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwell and/or Net Zero certification in portfolio.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper.
• Clear verbal communication abilities and are detail oriented.
• Possess a visual communication style and are able to think and visualize in three-dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production.
• Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
• Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts.
• Guide skill development of junior designers.
• Contribute to and reinforce the team effort in producing design projects.
• Take responsibility for implementing approved briefing approach.
• Prepare the design analysis and research.
• Oversee the design development package for production.
• Work with Technical coordinator and technical team to ensure design intent is accurately interpreted in documents.
• With Design Manager, liaise with client on issues of design.
• Participates in selection of FF&E color palettes & materials and generate specifications.
