Job summary

Old Navy in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Denim Designer to shape the Men’s Denim assortment, translating trends into commercial, customer-focused product built to last.

You’ll lead design concepts from sketches to final product, collaborate across Merchandising, Production, and Sourcing, and create clear design intent through tech packs.

A deep understanding of men's denim, strong Illustrator skills, and the ability to work fast in a collaborative environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of men’s denim, including fit, fabrication, washes and construction.
• Strong design aesthetic with a commercial, customer-focused lens.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple seasons.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator with a solid garment-construction background.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to execute the creative direction for Men’s Denim, translating vision into compelling, customer-relevant product.
• Research trends, market insights, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities in fits, washes, fabrics, and finishes.
• Design and develop seasonal denim concepts—from initial sketches through final product—across a range of fits and styles.
• Bring a strong point of view to washes, fabrications, and construction details that elevate the assortment.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, and Sourcing to ensure seamless execution from concept to customer.
• Create and communicate clear design intent through tech packs and ongoing partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Champion innovation in denim, including new fabrications, sustainability efforts, and wash techniques.
• Present ideas to leadership and iterate quickly; lead your team with a coaching mentality.

About the Role

Who You Are

• Deep understanding of men’s denim, including fit, fabrication, washes, and construction is preferred
• Strong design aesthetic with the ability to translate trends through a commercial, customer-focused lens
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and managing multiple seasons at once
• Skilled in Adobe Illustrator with a strong technical foundation in garment construction
• Detail-oriented with a sharp eye for proportion, finish, and consistency
• A natural collaborator and strong communicator who builds strong cross-functional relationships
• Passionate about denim and excited to evolve the category in meaningful ways
