Job summary

The Beaufort Bonnet Company is seeking a Senior Designer to lead creative development and production for assigned product categories at our Lexington, KY office. This role drives category strategy, seasonal design processes, and maintains brand identity, quality standards, and business objectives.

You will partner across Product Development, Technical Design, Sourcing, Merchandising, Marketing, and Sales to deliver on-time, production-ready product while guiding team members and overseeing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field is required.
• 6+ years of proven fashion design experience.
• Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of CAD and PLM software.
• Strong sketching, illustration, and design capabilities.
• Thorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, construction techniques, fit, garment engineering, and trims.
• Demonstrated ability to translate consumer insights and trends into commercially successful product assortments.
• Strong understanding of merchandising principles, product lifecycle management, costing, and margin considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creative development and seasonal design process for assigned product categories from concept through production, ensuring milestones are achieved on time.
• Develop category strategies and product assortments that are trend-right and aligned with brand identity and business objectives.
• Research market trends and consumer insights to inform seasonal development and future assortments.
• Lead the creative development of seasonal prints, color direction, fabrics, trims, and product details, ensuring brand standards.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and design integrity across assigned categories while balancing design intent with manufacturability and cost objectives.
• Own and manage the seasonal design calendar and mitigate risks to ensure timely milestones.
• Provide day-to-day leadership for designers, coaching and developing team members.
